After collaborating for their Refine-Me: Digital Wellness Conference series, WNDR WMN reached out again to create a poster for their IG LIVE conversation with Rah Digga and Rocky Snyda. They asked for a “chatting with the homegirl” vibe. For this I drew inspiration from early 2000s aesthetics, with a nostalgia for color palettes seen in content for That’s So Raven. The mix of greens and oranges are meant as a nod to Caribbean fashion and color palettes.

rEfine-me: digital wellness conference
In an effort to bring folks together from their homes, WNDR WMN organized a series of digital wellness conferences. The two-day event series included a live digital concert, guided meditation and yoga sessions, and a moderated panel. All of this needed to be included on the poster. The aesthetic brief consisted of creating a package of three posters: one to promote the weekend at large, and one for each day of programming.
balancing volume and clarity.
The primary challenge was figuring out how to fit the volume of information on a poster that would mainly be viewed on a mobile device. Creating depth of field with the illusion of foreground and background was integral.
We sought to achieve several goals with the design for this poster. WNDR WMN asked me to use a pink color palette, with a focus on a relaxed vibe.
I chose to include softer wave lines in the back as a nod to sound waves, or beach waves - to harp on the music element and the theme of relaxation. Additionally, I added squares of varying sizes, colors, and clarities. This created the illusion of a “loose” pixels floating through space.

money moves
We toyed around with new poster designs, but ultimately decided to maintain the original design - refreshed with a new color-way of warm green tones.
I decided to add outlines of floating money in the background for a subtler allusion to the theme of the afternoon.
